Shades look sort of similar on my skin (in a flattering way) with the only slight difference being in the tone of the shades.Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette ($46.00 for 0.72 oz.) includes three highlight shades (0.08 oz.I like all the shades provided in this kit. Shades cannot be customized like the ABH kit, but I don’t mind that.Cons of Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette : The light highlight shades actually do show up on my skin and brighten like they are supposed to.Super easy to work with, very bendable and soft powders. It does not look apparent that I am wearing any makeup and it does not look muddy. Shades look very natural on my skin tone. All shades are very flattering on my Light Medium skin tone.Absolutely eautiful packaging and concept of Shade and Light!.Pros of Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette : I will recommend this Kat Von D kit over the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit. This Kat Von D at ($46) is a little more expensive than Anastasia one($40). On a side note, I do use the Kat Von D Shade +Light Contour brush which was released along with this kit and designed to be used with it and a review on the brush is also coming up on IMBB pretty soon. The pigmentation of these colors are fantastic and all these shades are highly flattering on my skintone. I love the amazing packaging style which is true for all Kat Von D products. Overall, I do really really like almost everything about this kit.

Also, all the colors in the Anastasia kit are of the same size pan unlike the Kat von D kit in which the contour color have a bigger size than the highlighter shade, which in my opinion is a good idea as you do use more contour powder on bigger area of the face than highlighters. Also, the Anastasia kit has refillable pans which pop out and which are sold individually in an array of shades hence you are able to literally customize your kit if you preferred too. With my Anastasia kit I could clearly tell the difference on my face if used a different shade but here the problem lay with not all shades being flattering and working with my skin tone. Hence I am able to mix two or more shades without it looking muddy. The difference is maybe very subtle in the undertone of each of these shades. A con I would list here is that all these highlight and contour shades look kind of similar on me in their respective categories when applied (all in a very flattering way of course) I can literally use them interchangeably without being able to tell a world of difference.

All 3 contour shades work very well with my skin tone. These powders are highly pigmented, even the light highlighter shades actually do show up on my skin clearly and help bring forth features that I want highlighted without looking chalky or too powdery on my face. I prefer using my own highlighter anyways. Even though this kit doesn’t contain shimmer, I find myself not missing it. The ABH palette contained one highlighter shade called Sand which was shimmery. All these shades are completely matte without any hint of shimmer. – 3 x 0.08 oz Light powder in Lucid (pinkish nude), Lyric (yellow beige), Levitation (soft peach)Īll powders in this kit are very smooth, silky and bendable. – 3 x 0.16 oz Shade powder in Sombre (true taupe), Shadowplay (soft brown), Subconscious (deep brown)
